UN-F*CKING- BELIEVABLE! I will try my best to review this without giving anything away. It’s one of those reads the less you know going into it the better it will be.
Let’s be honest, I will read anything this woman writes and in truth I only have a handful of authors I can say this about (don’t get me wrong, I hope to add more to the list – but we are not there yet).
NO, I am not bias. YES, I pre-order or one-click certain authors such as Corinne Michaels without bothering to see what the new release is even about, but can you blame me? You will be in complete agreement if you read any of her writings.
With that being said, I did read the blurb for Say You’ll Stay and even then… to say the least…
I was BLOWN THE F*CK AWAY! I dived in thinking I knew what I was getting myself into, and Corinne played me for a fool. By the end of the first chapter I couldn’t breathe because my nose was so stuffed up from my profusely sweaty eyes! Before I started in on the second chapter I was already a blubbering mess; taking deep breathes with a million questions that needed answering. Can you say ANGST GALORE?!
Corinne (yeah we are on first name basis – HA) pulled the rug right out from underneath me while I was looking her right in the eyes (seriously, this is how it felt)!! Say You’ll Stay knocked the wind right out of me, and I just kept going back for more! Guess you can say I am a glutton for punishment because it HURTS SO GOOD!
How can two people remember the same thing so differently?
Talk about three-sides to every story; his, her and the truth. This story pretty much slaps you in the face of how true this phrase is: “assumptions are the mother of all f*ck-ups.” It easily takes you back to the cause and effect of every life choices you made or will be making and the outcomes of those choices. The reasonable thing to do is not dwell on it and live in the past questioning everything you have ever known but to move on and live for the present and the future.
We were stupid to think we could have it all and it would cost us nothing. Life doesn’t care if you’re in love, there’s always a price for happiness, we were just unwilling to pay.
It’s crazy how at one point in your life you can see, hear, taste and breathe in every breath you take of your truth and it can completely take a 180 as you simply live life. How everything you once thought you knew no longer existed; that things cannot get worse but it does; shattered hearts cannot be repaired but with love it does heal.
He breaks me apart. He puts me together. He’s my poison and my antidote.
Corinne has woven an incredible-heartbreaking- beautiful story of strength, regrets, acceptance, forgiveness and unconditional love. I feel guilty for admitting this but Say You’ll Stay stole my heart completely and may have gently pushed the other series down just a teeny tiny bit.
